Session Expires

Hello,
i'm from portugal and i'm feeling a hard dificulty to determine when a session expires.

My problem is that a username is loged on a system, and when he is loged the session expires, so he stays like a ghost, that have previleges but when she acts i cant determine the username.

So anyone can help me how to determine a session expiration?

Hi, could you just send some code explaining how you declare your session, session vars, etc... through pages so that it appears a bit clearer for us ;-)

hi,
my session is started by session_start() at the beginning of the index, then i register the var using sesseion_register("username"), and declare them to empty $username="";.
When user logs on the siystem i change te username to $username="user";
So when i need to test if the user is loged i just see is $username his empty or not.
