unwanted backslashes in email

I have a php email form muck like this one but when a (" or')as in (It's) are used the resulting email is displayed (It\'s). Can someone help fix this problem?

Your server has magic quotes turned on, so you either need to turn it off or else run stripslashes() on all data received via POST.
