Reverse ereg?

What would the code be for checking if something is not contained in a line?

well.....

strstr($theline,"something");
returns true if something is found in $theline. so i would think that this....

!strstr($theline,"something");
would return true is something was not found in $theline.

oh and...
strstr is case-sensitive, stristr is not.

you can also use something like this:

ereg("[^{(something)]",} $theline);

when the carot is inside brackets, it means anything that doesnt match the string.
