Workaround for re-declaring Functions??

I have some code that uses require(<file>), more than one page requires() the same file and in some case requires() more than one.

is one case I have

require("header.php");
require("main.php");

both header.php and main.php have the same function name. i.e. both have

function DoThis()
{

}

when I run the script I get a

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare DoThis() in <file>.php on line 14

Is there a workaround, as PHP does not support re-definition of functions.

This isn't really on option,

I have roughly 30+ files which all do there only thing, but with the same function names.

Only today have I come up with the problem of re-declaration.

I know it would be simple to just rename one, but I would preferre to keep them all as is.

Php doesn't support redeclaring/overloading functions, the only way it to do it is incorporate logic that makes it so that the function with a certain name is included only once. If you wrap both of your DoThis() functions in this code, then only the first one will get declared. If the functions are both truley different and do different things, then I'd strongly suggest renaming one function and changing all of your code accordingly. As painful as it sounds, it's seems like the "right" thing IMHO.

dothis is the worst function name possible... the code is not portable, or understandable by anyone other than you.

if you don't care about that, fine. but you probably are going to get a kick in the nuts when you try to get a real programming job at some point and they make you do it the right way.

A real programming job? Explain what a real programming job is.

Is it where you go to school and do O Level's pass at English and Maths, then to to College or High School, and get your English and Maths A Levels, with a A level in Computers (Pascal, VB, COBOL) then goto university, sit and listen to a teacher read you some stuff from a book passed down to him from the previous teacher. Then goto an interview and say "please give me a job, I am good for this company, and can do this, and that, I have been to uni and am the best there is". And then, sorry lost it there,

As steve said, it was an example, such as

Please_Do_This(), Will_You_F**g_Work(), B*x()

I use the last one quite alot.
