File permission is denied

i am making this ecards site and i make a file as follws
$fileNo = time();
if ($fp=fopen($fileNo.".txt","a"))
... but my F2s server says permission denied..i chmoded it to 666,777,755 but nothings working pls help

what did you chmod... the file or the dir. you have to have read and write access to the dir to append to that file.
