Zip file creation

Anyone know of any good zip file creation classes or code bases? I found one but the files it creates choke up Aladdin Stuffit Expander so there's something a little off. I want to be able to dynamically generate a zip file from a file list. The file can either be saved to disk or just sent to the browser.

What about just calling an external program to do it for you? like gzip with the exec() command?

I've thought about doing that, but I wanted to create .zip files versus .gz files because more peoples machines in the general public will recognize and have the utilities to open them. This is for product distribution so I need just about everyone to be able to open the files at the other end.

Err, I suppose I can just use the zip command with exec. I'll do some testing.

I ended up using a command line method with the exec() function. None of the zip writing scripts that I found worked in all cases.
