All,
I suspect that my problem is quite common... but I\\\'ve not seen it referenced, here. I\\\'m using PHP to hit an Oracle 8.1.7 database. While I\\\'m able to select from most tables, I can\\\'t seem to select from the infamous V$ views (e.g., \\\"select instance_name from v$instance;\\\"). I imagine that PHP interprets the \\\"$\\\" as a local variable/etc. How do I \\\"escape\\\" the dollar sign (\\\"$\\\")??
If I were interested in only a few views in a few instances, I\\\'d get around the problem by creating synonyms for the v$ views. Unfortunately, I\\\'m trying to access ~50 Oracle database instances... and I\\\'m WAAAAAYY to lazy to replicate the synonyms across that many instances. Surely there\\\'s a \\\"proper, PHP\\\" way to escape the \\\"$.\\\" HELP!!!
