Include problem

because i use:

<?php
require("connect.php");
?>

but it is in the directory
so>>>>

require("./connect.php");

Or:

require("/home/sites/site92/web/mall/connect.php");

now i have the same problem but as:

when i wrote:
require("/home/sites/site92/web/mall/connect.php");

this is another separate question from my original one:

in my local machine i have this in my php.ini:

include_path = ".; \apache\includes;\apache\htdocs\;\apache\htdocs\phpmyadmin" ; UNIX: "/path1:/path2" Windows: "\path1;\path2"
what does it mean??

I think this is your best solution:

<?php
include($DOCUMENT_ROOT . "/connect.php");
?>

its not working either with $DOCUMENT_ROOT

You are positive that these files are in the same directory, and that the web server user (usually nobody) has the access to read the directory and the files? My guess is that connect.php has restricted permissions and that the web server user can't read it so it can't include it.
