How to??? session variables with MySQL

How can I use a mysql result set in a php session variable? I've been trying this for awhile and nobody seem to have a clue how to do this.

Again, I want to take a record from MySQL and assign it's value to a session variable.

Ok, you CAN NOT set a result set to a session variable. What you can do is if you have specific information (such as a row that you have fetched) you can store that as a session variable by normal means. Just know that the acutal result set (the identifier you get back after you run mysql_query()) is just a number pointing back to an internal reference for that result set, but only for that one execution of the page. I hope that helps!

I'm afraid I didn't make myself clear. Some sample code should help:

session_register("foo");
...
while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) {
$foo = $row["foo"];
}
...
echo($foo);

$foo still is = blank!!!

seems that your while loop is not done...
Could you post some more code please (SQL query also) so that it could be clearer?

Maybe your query is too accurate and I encountered some troubles with mysql_fetch_array when the result was on a single line.
If it is the case, try with a larger query (no where condition) first and then, if it works, try more and more accurate...
