Hi there guys, i've got a huge mindbugging problem here and i hope maybe someone here can point me in the right direction, or even have some idea of how to solve it.
The thing is that i have diffrent books (printed), where the pages of these books come from word/excel && powerpoint files. I want to publish this on the web aswell, but i still want to keep the source-docs in one format/one file, so the when changes are made you make it to the doc and print the page for the book and publish it on the web. Now the problems starts, cause i've looked at generating the diffrent formats in HTML, the code is crapy and word ie. makes on HTML file, and a folder where it puts things like pics......
The site where this is presented has a admin-system for dynamicly building the index of each book, this works great (after long nights and lots of coffe), now i want to have refs to the docs in a table, so that i can "connect" a doc to a node in the index. this should'nt be a problem, but getting the generated HTML files from the client to the server is, cause of the amount of files it generates. Ofcourse i could do this myself, and case solved, but the ppl who's gonna update these pages are layers and we all know how "technical" they are.
So to put it simple, anyone out the with a suggestion/idea of how to in a simple way use office-docs on a portal for presentation, and still keep the same "looks" as the original....without having to work with more then one source file??
Any suggestions is appreciated, as bizard as it might be, hit me with it......cause this is about to make me crazy.....
