i have a large multi-line script that i need to strip only these kind () of slashes from, but also ONLY if they are followed by (") or (')

how would i go about doing this? would i have to use replace?

Maybe this will work:

Open the Script in you favourite editor
Open a find/replace dialog
Type into the find field \"
Type into the replace field "
Click on 'replace all'
Open a find/replace dialog
Type into the find field \'
Type into the replace field '
Click on 'replace all'

Now the text shouldn't contain \" or \'
only " and '

that wouldnt work because the ' and " are inside in print() functions and it would just give errors

So why do you want to strip the backslashes?

i just want them gone in the output, its printing things like <i>We\'re going running tomorrow.</i>
