PHP multilingual site

Hello all!

I want to attempt to create a new site in 3 languages (English, Spanish and French, possibly to add Chinese). I have never attempted this before and wonder if anybody has any suggestions/resources/experiences before I start? Much of the content will be html sent using php include files but some pages will be dynamically called from the database.
