Scheduled delete

Hi everyone. I did a search, but have not found anything on this. Maybe I am using the wrong search terms?

What I would like to do is have my text file delete it's entries every 24 hours.

I don't want to delete the file itself, just the text within the file.

How can I do this? Please be as detailed as possible. I am a newbie. 😉

So you just want to clear the textfile?

On unix you can use the "crontab" to start a command at a certain time. This command can be a simple as

echo '' >filename.txt

Search the forum or the net for more information on how to use the crontab.

I'm new at it as well and find this pretty interesting too... schedulded tasks in general.
