Mail account creation

I am trying to make a Web based mail service sych as Hotmail but I have a big problem : I just can not find how to create users' accounts on the mail server.

By the way which mail server would you recommend in this case.

This is my exam project so I can have any free configuration no commercial progs.

Email server: sendmail.
How to create accounts: use sodo or similar.

And as it's your exam project: it's YOUR job to find it all out, not let other people do it for you.

Do not be a dumb ass please !

I do not want people to do the whole project for me. All I want is a clue on how to do a particular thing which is, let's say, 2% of the project.

I hoped I would find smart people there but you do not belong to them.

You could have avoid such an answer.
