Yeah, like he said.
Have the database work done on an intermediary page that displays no html, text, etc. and then sends the header that goes and displays the newly updated information. It's an extra step that only the browser and the server see, the user thinks they've just been redirected to the newly updated display page, it is only recorded in their browser's history.
