explode problem

Hi all,

I have run into some problems with explode.

The string looks like this:

word1 | word2 | | word3 | word4

I tried explode on the | |. This did not work.
I then tried: eregi_replace(" ","",$var)
the output from this looked like:

word1| word2| |word3 |word4

Attempting to remove the blank spaces, in the hopes that would help on my explode.
Still no luck...

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi all,

I found my problem:

I have been jumping between strings and arrays and somewhere along the way there have been newlines inserted into my string.

I am now removing the \n from my string.
