Date problem

I have this
$query = "SELECT News_Subject, News_Body, date_format(Date, '%M %D, %Y %h:%i %p') as Date, Related_Stories, User_Name FROM gc_news ORDER BY Date DESC";

this works, but it only puts the records in Desc order with in that month. It then orders the months the wrong way by putting September in Front of October. The way I want it is to have the records to start from the most current, to the oldest. With the way I need it, it should go from Oct to Sept. Any help would be appreciated.

The problem as I see it is that you're ordering the records according to the formatted attribute and not the value in the DB. Try this for a change :

$query = "SELECT News_Subject, News_Body, date_format(Date, '%M %D, %Y %h:%i %p') as DateFormat, Related_Stories, User_Name FROM gc_news ORDER BY Date DESC";

.. and be sure to display DateFormat and not Date. Maybe it'll help you along the way ...
