Getting Full Server Path

Hello,
In a script that I'm making I want the user to be able to upload images. To make it easier for the user (who will be installing this script on their server) is there anyway to get the full path to their documents folder without them having to specify it? For example mine is: /home/www/username/domain.com/docs/ and I'd like to be able to automaticly detect it.

If this is web root dir, then use $DOCUMENT_ROOT. If something else, check phpinfo().
