HTML editting

Is there any way to write a HTML editor in PHP. At the moment I have a textarea filled by an entry in a MySql db. I have since learned that the tags are lost when the form is submitted.

Is there anyway aroungd this??

are you using htmlspecialchars()?

I enter html into mysql just fine without it.

Nope. At the moment I'm reading from the db and printing into a textarea. If I edit and try to save (submit) the HTML in the textarea does not get passed on the appropriate script. I have read that textareas cannot handle html tags so I am assuming that is the problem??

Textareas can handle html just fine, its only putting the value into a variable. Make sure you are passing the variables correctly.

When HTML is in the textarea I don't seem to be able to submit the form??

in the HTML that's inside the TA, is there a </TEXTAREA> tag? that's a common pitfall.

Sorry all, I have fixxed it. It seems the html being submitted in the form was to large to be handled by get?

I still don't really understand why??

Mybe some one can help me with this question or point me in the directon of some material...what are the size limits when submitting data via POST and GET. GET has a limit as I found out but does POST?? Or am I missing some fundamentals 🙁
