Does anyone know if there is a way to get username from the .htaccess login promt, through Perl, Java, PHP or any other language. If not is there a way to get username from login promt at all.

Any other way to secure your folders including images, docs, and webpages where you can track users.
Please let me know

    Search the ,manual for REMOTE_USER
