Is something wrong with this code??

hi can someone see what wrong with this code??

SELECT CName, FirstName, LastName, Category, SingerLink FROM singer WHERE Category = 'male' AND LastName LIKE '[a-c]' ORDER BY LastName "

i'm trying to display a range of any singer's LastName starts with a, b, c

for some reasons that i can't figure out, it returns no result during the searh. please help..

i think i found the answer,

SELECT CName, FirstName, LastName, Category, SingerLink FROM singer WHERE Category = 'male' AND LastName REGEXP '^[a-d]' ORDER BY LastName"

this is really wild, i'll get the answer myself after i post the question. sorry about that guys

Glad you got it working, but I do still have a question: why do you ask it to return the 'Category' column when you already know the only category you're going to get is (e.g.) 'male'?
