to_day command help..

i have search all this site and mysql.com and php.net.. still no luck..

this is the string i have now... it lists my users that have posted within the last 30 days..

$sql = "SELECT user_id, count(*) AS number FROM news WHERE TO_DAYS(NOW()) - TO_DAYS(n_date) <= 30 GROUP BY user_id ORDER BY number DESC

What i want it todo is... list the users from this month.. meaning 10/1/01. I can update this everymonth by hand if need be..

I think MySQL is expecting '0000-00-00' format.
See the bottom of this link for types and accepted delimeters.

I feared that. But I have a feeling that it could be used somewhat like that. Like Josh posted, it can be how your date is "looking" in the database.

I may have found something...the to_days
command enters a value known as the enoch time...# of days since a given date. You should be able to add that as an int (type) and perform the => 30 days. It would probably mean two tables one with readable format for "us" and the other value. Or, perhaps convert the "enoch" time to a value we can read.
