session destroy

hi,

How to destroy the session login ID if
they do not press the logout button.I mean
if they login and do not do anything for
certain time or they leave the pc without press logout.Any idea? please help me.

As far as I know there is no real way to kill a session if the browser is still open on the site. The kill has to be done from the local user by closing the browser.

Unless I'm wrong, and I don't think I am, the session is technically still active on the server, meaning nothing has told PHP to unregister the session... someone correct me if I'm not right. As to anwering the specific question, I'm really not sure, but would think you could trap the browser closing/leaving via javascript and pass the event back to your server and get rid of the session data.
