SMS Wireless Messages in PHP

I know wireless is a big topic today, and the combination of PHP and SMS messaging is a new and cool update. Our company is involved in that, and I thought some of you might be interested. We've set up a free developer program so you guys can try out the PHP component and let us know what you think. Just go to http://devprogram.simplewire.com and set up an account and you can try it all free. Lets your PHP app send wireless messages via SMS to cell phones and pagers worldwide.

Uhm.. aren't there already a few thousand sites where you can just post your SMS's to?

What does this new thing do that those websites can't?

What this does is allow you to actually embed the functionality into your OWN application. In other words, you can BUILD one of those sites around the software. In addition, our connectivity extends far beyond what any of these sites offers. We also offer a service level and reliability that allows you to use SMS in high priority critical applications that you would never want to trust a website like that with. I guess I'm just oldfashioned when I use my trusty old 14k4 modem to dial my messages straight to my Phone company using a small perl script :-)

Hehe, Vincent, it isn't really a matter of old fashioned. It's a matter of that you are doing something completely different. There is no way to use SMS in a company wide CRM system, or a financial alerts system the way you are describing. For certain small applications using only one or two carriers, surely you can do that. Thanks for the good wishes.

I don't think it's much work to put a message-manager into the script and be able to send as many messages as I like, upgrade the 14k4 to an ISDN line and be just as fast/flexible and reliable as you :-)
