Getting data into PHP/mySQL

Hello,
I have a vb app that diplays a spreadsheet and allows a user to select songs. I need a way to get the song info (title, artist, album, etc.) from the VB app onto my server. They can select multiple songs at once (many, in fact). I don't have the song info on my server already, so I can't just send a song ID.

I've come up with several options but would like some feedback as to which is best or any solutions that I haven't thought of.

My ideas...
1) Use the VB app to set a cookie that can be read by my server which contains arrays for song title, artist, etc. to get around the 20 cookie limit

2) Send the song information in the URL string when linking to the site. The only problem here is I'd have to use multiple URLs because of the length.

Any thoughts, comments or other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds to me as if you allready know the best solution... Using a song ID. Why can you not put the information on the server and call it this way?

Because I don't have the information. It's coming from the user.

I need to be able to get their information.
