carriage return delimiting

Hi...

I am trying to write a file to my screen. In order for me to do this I am reading the file into an array and then the array onto my html screen. In order for it to correctly output, when I explode the file, i want to delimit it using two carriage returns, not one. Is there anyway I can do this. below is my code...PLEASE HLP ME!

$filename = "blur.txt";
$fp = fopen($filename, "r");
$file_contents = fread($fp, filesize($filename));

$Data = file($filename, "r");
fclose($fp);
$line = explode("\r", $file_contents);

for ($n=0; $n<count($Data); $n++){
echo$line[$n]\n");

The carriage return is only usedon windows platforms. Try exploding by newline: "\n"

Note: the 'file()' function does this by default, check out the manual.

Thanks for ur reply but I am still confused...

My blur.txt file looks as follows:

Welcome parents, the LA area
is looking
for talented
billiard children.

When: Saturday, November 10, 2001

Where: Kennedy High School in LA, CA

Who: Childen aged 5-14

Sections: A-f and p-W

SO when I explode this file i want the intro to be the first element, "when" to be the second element, where to be the third element, how to be the fourth lement and so on. It just isn't formatting propaerly when i write it back to my html screen...can u pls help...

Sorry, I missed the part where you said you wanted to delimit on 2 newlines.

try something like

$aArray = explode("\n\n", $sText);

BTW: this is something you really ought to store in a database!
