how scan LAN´s

For a student-inhouse-LAN I want to write a kind of dynamic mp3-search. How can find out who is online (computername or ip). I want to search thru all shared folders in LAN on the computers that are ON. I already saw something like that working with *.php, so I know it is possible - but how? :-)

Hello! That is called the 'search' function in mp3, and it's under your F3 button.
