.htaccess and download files with PHP

Please, Help me.
I need to download files from directory where restricted access with .htaccess and .htpasswd.
I tried to use
$location="Location: ".$path . "/" . $newname;
header($location);

BUT IR'S NOT WORKING.

Please advice me ASAP.

What do you mean
header("Location: username:password@server/path/file.ext");
What is server?
I typed
header("Location: admin:[e-mail]/download/10.zip");
BUT Server said there is syntax error,
Then I changed to
header("Location: admin:[e-mail]/download/10.zip");

Web server replied as
404 Errror and in the location bar
http://www.referats.kiev.ua/admin/:[e-mail]/download/10.zip

What is wrong?

I already replied by e-mail, but for the Forum Archive: I forgot "http://":
header("Location: http://username:password@server/path/file.ext");
