Getting the latest date

Hello there! how do I compare date and time in php? For example in a query result, I have to display the transaction with the latest date and time.

Ex.
Query result:
month day year hour min sec
10 10 2001 13 18 16
10 10 2001 13 18 23

How do I display the latest date and time? please help. Thanks.

To get the transaction with the latest date, use a query:
SELECT max(date_field)
FROM table;

then use the output of that to get the rest of the record:

SELECT *
FROM table
WHERE date_field = $max_date;
