If your toolbars were not there when you started, you will need to copy the Normal.dot file from elsewhere. Is there someone else in the office with identical toolbars and macros as you? If so, get a blank disc and go over to their computer. Click Start>Programs>Windows Explorer. Scroll down on the left hand window until you see Program Files. Click once on this then move the mouse over to the right window and double click Microsoft Office. Now double click Templates. Inside this folder will be a file called Normal.dot (Possibly simply called Normal if you don't usually see file extensions. Right click on this file. Left click copy. Now move the mouse over to the left hand window and right click. Left click on paste. The Normal.dot should be copied over. Remove the disk and return to your computer.
Insert the disk in your computer. Close down any copies of Word you have running. Click on Start.>Programs>Windows Explorer. Scroll up until you can see 3 1/2 Floppy A: and click on it. Right click on Normal.dot and left click on copy. Move the mouse over to the left hand window and click on Program Files. Click on Microsoft Office and then templates. In the right hand window you will see a Normal.dot. Right click on this, then left click on rename. Rename the file to something like Normal.old or Normal.bak - just so we have backup of the files in case anything goes wrong. Now right click again on the right hand window and select paste. The Normal.dot from the disk will be copied. Now close down Explorer and open Word. Toolbars should be back.
