Variable not submitted

I've a very strange problem that never happen before. This only started to appear after I changed to a different web host.

Where is the very simple problem:

I've a page (test.php) with this code:

if (isset($teste))
{
echo "$teste";
}
else
{
echo "Not set";
}
?>
<form action="test.php" method="POST">
<input type="text" name="teste" value="333">
<input type="submit" value="Olé">
</form>

The problem is this, the page always echo the "Not set", never the value of the variable $teste. You can have a look at the phpinfo() result in http://www.cnotinfor.pt/teste.php

Even if I write test.php?teste=333, it doesn't work.

What can be the problem?

I beleive isset() is a php4 function? I'm not sure, This could be the only explanation to your problem. It should say set..

Try:

$HTTP_POST_VARS[\'teste\']

or

$HTTP_GET_VARS[\'teste\']

use either one, depending on the method your form uses. You should use those, usually, anyway. 😉

Yes, that was the problem. I also found out this in the help manual

register_globals boolean

Tells whether or not to register the EGPCS (Environment, GET, POST, Cookie, Server) variables as global variables. You may want to turn this off if you don't want to clutter your scripts' global scope with user data. This makes the most sense when coupled with track_vars - in which case you can access all of the EGPCS variables through the $HTTP_ENV_VARS, $HTTP_GET_VARS, $HTTP_POST_VARS, $HTTP_COOKIE_VARS, and $HTTP_SERVER_VARS arrays in the global scope.

So the problem was, that this value was off.
