Making e-mail accounts??? HOW???

Soon I'll have to make scripts that will make user e-mail accounts automaticaly...

The server is Win 2000 Pro and there is an application that is a e-mail server...
My question is... Is it possible to make accounts automaticaly under Windows 2000...
on whatever programs you know.... I may install it instead of the old one...

If it is not possible to make this work... HOW TO DO IT UNDER LINUX...???

Anything is possible my freind, its just a matter of time...
If I were building an App in Linux that did this, I would need to use the functionality here:

http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.imap.php

These functions deal with accessing mailboxes that implement open standards, which I'm not sure MS does. I wish I could offer more.
