The course that I would suggest is to download the php manual in windows help format (available from php.net). Next try to download phptriad (www.phpgeek.com/phptriad.php) which is mysql, php and apache server all in one package with a friendly install (trying to install all three seperatly is a major b@@l ache). The way that I learnt php was to exactly that and study the php manual and examples from the above sites until my eyes went square.
