$HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA - what about GET?

I need to access raw the raw GET query string that's passed to the server - how do I do this, any clues?

uh... it is the URL itself.

$REQUEST_URI or something i think...

Yeah, trouble is PHP doesn't seem to be giving that to me raw ...

REQUEST_URI /test.php?sn=Plaggy

When it should be giving me:

/test.php?sn=Plaggy Pig

Because the request is coming from an AOL AIM client (from its profile viewer), it doesn't replace whitespaces with %20's like IE or netscape does before sending the request 🙁

Maybe just do:

$URL = $REQUEST_URI;
$URL = str_replace(" ", "+", $URL);
$URL = str_replace("%20", "+", $URL);
?>

Nah, because after the first whitespace in the query string the rest is lost (and can be found in SERVER_PROTOCOL) ... it's just a bit messy to stick them together, I don't like it - but it will have to do I suppose.

Just wondered why PHP won't let me get at the original un-touched request string 🙁

it does... the problem is a mixture of HTTP protocol, the web server obeying it, and AOL not following it.

the URL MUST not have spaces... just because it works doesn't mean its right, and PHP is just getting its data from apache (or whatever you are using) i believe. so apache is doing its job (stoping at whitespace or whatever and starting the request process) AOL is to blame i think. for everything. world famine, terrorism -> AOL.

Yeah, I just wondered if I could get my hands on the garbage AOL is passing apache/php so I could sort it out, guess not though :-/
