cookie setting problem

Hi all,

I'm building a small website which is using the apache server on a linux box, mysql and php (obviously 🙂). The first page is basically a form which submits data to the database and sets 5 separate cookies on the client's machine. When testing this locally, the cookies set perfectly on IE 5.5 and Netscape 4.7. However, when putting the site on the server and testing via the internet, the cookies only set when using Netscape - they DO NOT set with IE 5.5!

I have checked all the config files to the best of my ability - since it is PHP4, track_vars is automatically on - magic_cookies are on - global variables are on - EGCPS - can't think of much else to check??? Anybody out there have any ideas? I would be forever in your debt...

i suppose u allready did that, but anyway:
did u check ur IE5.5 settings?
...maybe ur browser doesnt accept cookies at all?

Yes, I did check my IE5.5 settings - all cookies are allowed...

hm,

thats strange then, cause usually Netscape is more affective to errors in code than IE.
...maybe u should try to use one of the cookies-examples from the php-manual, if they dont work as well then it should be the browsers fault.

WOW, me too, the same problem!

@home (win2k, apache, php4), the cookies work in both browsers. On the remote site it does not work!

Maybe it has to do with security settings in IE, because
@home=intranet, - trusted
and
onsite=internet zone - medium security

The domain param is not set.
