newbie: submitting images

Is there a way to submit images via a form?

I am working on a site that will allow authors to submit articles in html format. Therefore, I need to find a way that these authors can send the images to me without sending them via email. Is this possible?

Since an image is obviously a file there is one way in which to do this. You will need to setup the form to send files. Which means obviously allowing uploads to the server with forms. There are tons of uploads scripts around so don't worry you will find one and there are tutorials as well (zend.com for example and here).
