Using directory listings

I am trying to make a drop down menu to select different themes for my script. My themes are stored in their respectable folders like.....

/themes/theme1
and
/themes/theme2
and so on

I need help making a script that will look in the /themes directory and put 'theme1' and 'theme2' in a drop down box. The only thing my script needs to know is the name of the theme foler to be used.

I don't have any experience working with directories. I would no it staticly, but the idea is to make it extensible.

$d = opendir($dir);
while ($f = readdir($d))
