are you sure?

I have a educational web site that I have built in php, I have a place where teachers can post what the homework is for that week and for future weeks, I have a place where they can choose the week from a pull down menu then they can enter their homework, this works well and fine, untill they have to go back and edit their homework, I would like to have some kind of "Are you Sure you would like to overwrite this", I don't know the best way to do this. The structure of my web page is that I hvae classes.php which has the class information and then I have a dbinclude.php which holds all of my functions, including my upload homework function, Ideally I would like to do some kind of javascript or something, but any ideas would be great.

Well, if you are OK with using JavaScript, you can have something like this:

<form onsubmit="return confirm('Are you sure?')">

If they press Cancel, the form won't submit.

something like that would work, but I haven't tested any of that, so its probably got a load of bugs, the idea is there though.

Since i assume that you are submitting other data....

to use the above example but anyother vars in hidden fields so they will be transmitted =P
