send lot of mail

Hello,
I've got an mail to send to 20000 emails.

Currently, it's take about 6 hours and a lot of ressources.

Could somebody it suggest me ideas to improve this time?

I already reduced cuts my email of it but what I find odd it is that my email makes 30ko or 3ko the time of sending is appreciably the same one.

On which other parameter can I play?

Notice between each sendind of email I write sleep(1).

Couple of questions:

1) Since I get, oh, about 30+ junk mails a day - what is my incentive for helping you with this spam program?
2) Why sleep(1) after each mail? That is what is taking so much time.

hmmmm....

20,000 emails X 1sec (sleep) = 20,000 seconds

20,000 seconds / 60sec = 333 min

333 min / 60min = 5.55 hours

use cron job to do that job+database(are u using that?)
