Thanks for your suggestion, however I was looking for some kind of a mask only for the "Browse" window. You know like when you click "Browse" and you have options of "jpg" or "gif" or "txt" or "xls". I am not as concerned (at this time) with the actual file type that was uploaded.

consider Javascript as a fallback plan, so that sumbit will check the afiletype attribute and not allow it if its the wrong type. Of course you can do this with php, but it would be pretty annoying to upload the 2meg file and THEN be told by php that its the wrong type...
