Hi,
I could find a better forum to post this (although I guess I could've posted this on the general forum).
Anyway, my problem is regarding message boards. My High school physics class hosts a message board for students to discuss physics, etc. BUT: lately we have had anonymous posters flaming on the board and abusing it. I've considered many options to prevent this, but none seem to be too effective.
So my QUESTION: is there any way to prevent such abuse? i thought of coding an algorith to ban messages by words. But here is the problem:
the abuser could get creative and post words like: fck or a$$hole, etc. How do I code to catch these? I don't want to ban characters like or $ because we do a lot of Math and sometimes dollars are involved too :-)
I don't want to have users login to post messages because a lot of people (from universities, colleges, people who graduated a couple years ago) frequently answer questions. But i guess if nothing works out, this my be the last resort.
So does anyone know what might be the best solution? Has anyone experienced this before and have overcome the problem?
thanks,
