redit card transactions

Does anyone know how to go about setting up credit card transactions, I want to code my own algorithm’s to process transactions.

I know I need a digital Certificate
I know I need a Merchant Account

Any help would be appreciated

I would advise against doing it yourself.
Most merchants have an online service that you can use, which lets you simply post the transaction data (orderno, totalprice etc) to them, and they handle the secure side (gathering user information, C-card details etc) That's a lot easier and much safer.
