This may be a easy to answer question but how do you incorperate the ? after php. lets say my file was index.php, how do i make another page that's index.php?news or index.php?contact=2 I heard that they are variables also..i looked in the php files and can't find where the varibles are. Also i've seen, for example, that index.php?action=news is a whole different page than just index.php.How is it a whole different page?

how are u trying to link a normal link would just be
<a href="index.php?contact=2">Link</a>
and its not a seperate page, its the same page and PHP automatically defines the variable $contact which = 2 , so you can use it in your script.
