Hiding source code

I have been searching for the code that will completely hide the source code when someone right clicks on view|source code on a web page. I would like the view|source code option to display a completely blank box. I know it can be done. Would someone please direct me to the code that will accomplish this?

showing nothing when using view|source code will only slow users down from viewing the source.

you CANNOT prevent somewhat technical users from viewing your source.

but there is a Javascript to prevent people from right clicking on a page. You'll have to search Google for this.

yes, and if you want to further hide the source then do the entire project in flash & java.

go back to whatever manager asked for this "feature" and tell them its impossible. if they don't accept that, say it'll take a million years to develop and won't work when its finished.

The source permits you to see the keywords used by your competitors and better understand the way they thought their all thing out.

If a guy is contsantly number 1 and you are constantly behind, you may want to find out why he is number one - if you already have a good knowledge on how to reach a good ranking and have done your home work on this that is.

So... I would like to hide my source for obvious reasons.

I have come accross web sites where you could not access the source because the souce link in i.e. was simply not active when on these pages. So there seem to be a way to prevent access to the source - definitely.

Now... may be these pages were built as suggested by Brandon, but I don't think they were.

Tell me if I am wrong.

Searchengines rank on keywords and content, NOT on quality. Most sites in the top10 get their ranking though clever keywords like yours. They do no get there because they are good or popular. But because they are in the top10 they get tons of hits. Just frontpage hits ofcourse, but most of them don't care, as long as they get hits. 🙂

That is a very simple trick that is equally simple to disable, there is NO way to hide the source of your page. There just isn't.

HTTP is a plaintext protocol, and HTTPS is decrypted into plaintext.

If you really want to hide your stuff, you're going to have to be very tricky.

SInce your just trying to hide keywords, make some code that detects if a search engine is here, or a normal visitor.

Maybe something like this:
If this is the first visit to the site this session, set a session variable and instantly redirect to the exact same page. You'll probably have to log the IP or check the referrer so you know that this is not the first time they saw the page this session.

If the browser accecpted the session variable, they're probably not a search engine, so don't show your keywords or meta info.

If you detect that they are a search engine, load up on the meta-info.

As a matter of fact, check hotscripts and phpclasses for some search engine/User agent detection code. I've seen this around before.

Since you don't care if anyone sees your source, why hide it? All you want to do is keep your keywords under wraps.
