finding file name to have in title

i have a showpic.php file, that shall show the picture that showpic is linked to, like this:
<a href="javascript: window.open('showpic.php','','status=no, width=540,height=360'); void('');"><IMG SRC="thepic.gif" ALIGN="LEFT" BORDER="0"></A>
now i want the showpic to find out what picture it should zoom into. what can i do?

Amin: $file would maybe work. but then it would be the same pic. what about $file + large (it's a kind of solution, but there is one problem: $file would be thepic.gif and with '+ large' it would be thepic.gif_large 🙁
