Proble formation 000.00 numbers

Hi, I have a small problem.

I need for the sum of a person to be in 5 charaacter. If for example sum 3.98

the program(?fucntion should output)
003.98

It should Ber $$$.00 where $should be 0.

How do I do it in php. Is there a function that can add 0 to the end of of the price
