Redirection + authentification in PHP ?

Hello all,

here's the problem :

I want to to a redirection + 
authentification in PHP (ie
redirect a user from my own site
to another site, in a protected
part of the other site)

For now I'm using this code :


$auto = $login.":".$password;
$auto_enc = base64_encode($auto);

header ("Location: $private_url");
header ("Authorization: Basic $auto_enc");

But it doesn't work : I always get
the dialog box (where you normally
type your login & password) If I
type the good login & pwd I get
access, so there's nothing wrong
on the external web server in then
authentification process.

Any idea ?

Have you tried setting $PHP_AUTH_USER and $PHP_AUTH_PW and posting it to the URL you're redirecting to?

I will try that, but I'm not sure it can work
because it's a redirection.

Client 'A' is connecting to my server 'B'
And after that, server 'B' tell client 'A'
to connect to server 'C' in a directory
protected by login/password.

So I (server 😎 don't POST directly to
server C

Af first glance, it seems a very simple
problem, but it's not :-] !
