Printing using PHP

Can somebody help me.
I would like to print a document to a HP Deskjet 640c through my PHP page.
Have tried printer_open("HP Deskjet 640c") with PHP 4.0.4,am getting error:
"Call to undefined function: printer_open() ".

Why don't you just use javascript's:

windows.print()

That should be all you need.

PHP is a server side language, which means it can't carry out commands like this on a local machine.

If you had the Print function in a page, it would be executed on the server, and the client would not know anyhting about it.

Like torrent said, you should use Javascript.
