Can someone give me advice on how to go about mailing thousands of email addresses from php. mail() is not an option as the page would time out attempting the execution.

Can someone tell me / point me in the right direction as to how to write a message directly into send mail.

Or just give me some sugestions on a good way yo go about it.

the problem is to avoid the timeout

if you can use an alias to a file with sendmail is easy, but u have to check some security options in sendmail

you can try to reload the page, using a mix with javascript (reload) after you send some mails, and pass the last mail to know the last one
