What department does he belong to?

I guess i have a bain meltdown.
Hope you can help me 🙂

I have 3 tables:

tblEmployee
- employeeSignature
- employeeSirname
- employeeFirstname
- ...

tblDepartment
- departmentId
- departmentName
- departmentEmail
- departmentAdress
- ...

tblEmployeeDepartment
- departmentId
- employeeSignature
- employeeDepartmentTitle

A person can belong to more than one department and have different titles depending on department.
Tha table tbltblEmployeeDepartment is linking this together.

Now on to my problem:
When I am editing a employee's details, i'd like to have a list where I can choose which departments the employee belongs (checkbox) to and write in the title (textbox).
And if he/she already belongs to some then the checkbox is marked and the title is in the textbox.

How do I code this? I don't have a clue.

Start by selecting all of your department ID's, this will give you the size of your checkbox/textbox area. Then you just query your tblEmployeeDepartment using the current employeeID and fill in for each department in order, if the data exists otherwise you leave it blank. Then at the end you read all this data back in and fill in the table. You'll probably want to add a few things, like an original data flag so you and do updates. But that all there is to it.
